Kira Zack

There are an estimated 10^31 bacteriophages on Earth and only a fraction have been isolated and characterized. In the lab, my main focus is to isolate and characterize bacteriophages and to characterize the genomics requirements for replication of extrachromosomal mycobacteria prophages. She is also our expert student electronmicroscopist.

Kira is a member of the class of 2020 and she is majoring in Microbiology with minors in Chemistry and Studio Arts and a certificate in the Conceptual Foundations of Medicine. She plans to attend medical school in the future.
