Vaishnavi Mahalingam
As an undergraduate researcher in the Hatfull lab, Vaishnavi is investigating mycobacterial resistance to phage infection, with the eventual goal of developing fully effective phage cocktails that can be used to treat mycobacterial infections. Additionally, she is working to isolate and characterize phages that infect mycobacterial hosts.
Vaishnavi is a member of the class of 2022 and is majoring in microbiology with minors in chemistry and theatre arts. In the future, she plans to attend medical school.
